Join Me in Honoring TheOrtegaWomen
Did you know that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime??
The Women in my family are deeply affected by this cancer! For those of you who are unfamilair with how much this cause means to me, let me give you a little history:
My mother was diagnosed with Breast cancer at a very young age and fought every day for over 10 years. She unfortunetly lost her battle when I was at the age of 16! My whole family was devasted by this loss and all the women in my family began to fear about what might happen to them.
Over the years, two other of my moms sisters have been diagnosed with breast cancer and have underwent their own battle. Both are in remission now, but with 3/4 sisters having the same cancer, questions needed to be answered.
Over the past few years myself and a few other cousins in the family have researched what is genetic testing and how we could have it done to find out if the cancer ran in our family and how we can be prevenative.
After undergoing genetic testing we were able to find out that Im BRCA1 postive and have a 80% aquiring this cancer in my lifetime.
With that being said this cause continues to grow with me as it affects my whole family including myself.
If you know someone who has been afftected by this cancer or feel this is something you would like to support than please make a donation(of any size) to my page!
Please help me honor TheOrtegaWomen by raising funds to support Susan G. Komen so they can provide education, screening and treatment programs for women and men in our community, and support cutting-edge research so that one day we can live in a world without breast cancer.
Thank you for your generous support and for helping me honor/ support the women in my family as well as all the other people in the world diagosed battling this cancer!!
